To do a Header or Signature, FAX the original from a FAX machine to
FAXMAN on your computer. In the VIEW menu the MOVE command allows you to
name this file (don't use any PATH). The reulting DCX file can be converted
to a PCX with DCX2PCX, and then the PCX can be edited (by a paint program,
which may use TIF, but usually has conversions for TIF/PCX). The resulting
PCX/TIF file may be entered in Configure Expressfax MENU under Header or
Signature. There is more than one type of TIFF (compressed, uncompressed)
so you may need to convert if you get INVALID format. The Final files
should be in the FAX directory.
All you need is the PCX/TIF file with your signature. Fax a signature
to MTEZ. Goto VIEW and MOVE the file (no PATH). Then the file is in the
SEND directory. Use DCX2PCX to convert to a PCX file. You may need to EDIT
the result, to look better. Put the file in MTEZ's FAX subdirectoy. Then
just put the filename in Configure Expressfax menu under signature.
You can change the salutation in the TPL file of the cover you are
using. Use an ASCII editor to edit this file. If you are using the DELIVERY
cover, then edit the DELIVERY.TPL file.
The program I use to do graphics is Paintshow Plus, which happened to
be included with the Logitech handscanner (which I used to scan and edit
the signature file on this fax). This has a PCX to TIF converter for
editing. There is a program (shareware) available on many BBSs called
Graphics Workshop (GWS) which will convert between 'most' graphic formats,
so you can take your graphic file and make a TIF for MTEZ.
